Greetings and Salutations Partytects ^_^

What are everyone's thoughts on the 'built' environment in Shanghai?  China?  Feel free to praise or lambast at will...  I'd love to hear what projects everyone likes and why...  Same goes for the projects they abhor... ^_^

"learn to unlearn your learning" - Lao-tzu

That should read "Reverse Engineering"

and Unbelieveble should spell more or less like Unbelievable. Apologies!

Unbelieveble, I don't normally write much on public forums, very rare and when I do, it gets deleted LOL this is really funny I was almost pissing myself this afternoon when I first read your reply.

Yea that's right, Xin Tian Di. Built to provide an ambience of peace & friendship. That was absolutely brilliant work.

I'm from MTL, CA. The best place in the world after Shanghai of course

Keep up the designs healthy buddy and good luck with all your ideas!

S'hai, I accidentially deleted your comment!!!  Thanks for the good comments though!!!

Ive been to Xin Tian Di and totally agree with you.  The scale is perfect for walking, discovery, human interaction, people watching, maxin' and relaxin', etc...

Conversely, I think gentrified developments that want huge glass curtain walls with LV logos that leap up 4 storey's or more from the ground plane end up losing the 'podium' battle and end up negating the human experience while totally ingnoring the original urban fabric of their project site.  They fail to create places that actually respond to local character, conditions, and the people.  Xin Tian Di preserves something of the soul of China.  It's an 'Adaptive Re-use' success story.  I hope China does more of it in the future with the idea of creating a wider range of real estate opportunities to provide for a greater mix of inhabitants in and around such developments.

Im definitely going to check out the Shanghai Intl Circuit!  Thanks for that tip, bro!  I was just living in Vancouver, BC.  Where are you from in CA?
